A Weekend In Temecula

If you read my earlier blog post then you know that this weekend my sister from college graduated from Residency. With her graduation being out in Temecula my partner and I decided to make a trip out of it and spend some quality time together.

As I was searching for places to stay, I knew I wanted something that was private, intimate, and close to the venue. I ended up finding The Villa Inns in Wine Country. Not only does the place have 5 rooms, but they were adult only. This was honestly a big plus for me because since February I have had an upstairs neighbor where the child screams and runs around all night. Literally 24 hours a day. So to be able to have a space that would allow me reprieve from that was a big advantage to me.

We stayed in the Naples Suite, which is their biggest room, and it was the perfect place to unwind, relax, and spend time out of the hot sun. For lunch we headed over to The Local Provisions, a cute little diner within Vail Headquarters, which is a living historic park in the heart of Temecula. The food was delicious and the people were extremely kind and friendly. Both my partner and I had their pulled pork sandwiches with garlic fries and they did not disappoint. The perfect amount of BBQ to slaw ratio that was finger lickin’ good!

As the sun set we enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. With the evening cooling off this was the perfect way to wash away the stickiness from the heat and welcome the crisp desert air as the frogs began their croaking for the night. I was worried that all of the other couples staying there would be out and about as well, but majority of them spent their day time in the pool and called it an early evening, so we had the place to ourselves. A quiet, romantic setting to build beautiful memories with my partner on.

I look forward to returning in the future and exploring Temecula more. A lot of people go for the wine tasting, but there are plenty of things to do that don’t require alcohol. You just have to get off the beaten path to find the heart of a town.

Love always,

Jess
