Residency

Today my sister, best friend, and roomie from college is graduating from Residency!!! To say that I am proud of her would be a huge understatement.

This woman has worked her ass off, not only to become a doctor, but to be able to show up in a way for her patients that will leave them thriving in this world.

Her journey has not been one that is easy, but watching her overcome hurdle after hurdle, while simultaneously achieving greatness after greatness has been awe inspiring.

I got to meet her freshman year of college. To look back at those days where the world was our oyster. Young, free, and dreams set ablaze by the opportunities that stood before us. We didn’t know what the future would hold, but one thing my roommate knew was that she was going to be a doctor. I sat in our apartments with her as she studied, pretending I knew what she was talking about as she practiced presentations or tried to teach me things. I showed up in Miami to celebrate her medical school graduation.

Officially a DOCTOR!!

I stood by her side as she married the love of her life and cheered her on through each of her residencies.

The tenacity of this woman leaves me feeling blessed to walk through life with her. Her heart is big, her hugs warm, and her caring nature is something that many people can only imagine.

Tonight I get to celebrate her. I get to watch her achieve her dream and go out into the world and make a difference.

And make a difference she will!

I love you, sis, and look forward to witnessing the path your career and dreams take you!

Love always,

Jess
